My 3 1/2 month old has a clogged tear duct. Some days are good, some are bad. My question is about vision...
My older daughter also had this and has pretty bad eyesight in the eye that was affected (20/90). I'm worried that it was caused by the clogged tear duct. I'm worried that my youngest will also have vision problems because of the clogged tear duct. Anyone else have a child with a clogged tear duct who ended up having poor vision in the affected eye?
And I don't believe the 6 in 100 babies have it. I'm 2 for 3!
Clogged Tear Duct and Eyesight?
My son had a clogged duct until he was about 5 months old and it cleared up on its own. So far he isn't showing any signs of vision problems.
Reply:My daughter had clogged tear ducts when she was an infant but she has no problem seeing at all.
Reply:My first baby had one clogged tear duct. The Dr. prescribed drops for him. It has been a long time ago, so I do not remember how long we used the drops, but they did work.
He grew up without any eye problems at all. He went all the way though school no problems.
My second baby was OK.
Reply:My one son had a clogged tear duct, but with medical care, it healed and he is fine....is your daughter's a recurring one? What have you used to heal it? Which prescription? Good luck!
Reply:My MIL was just telling me the other day that she had problems with clogged tear ducts with both my husband and his brother. Neither of them had vision problems when they were young. I think my husband didn't start wearing glasses until after college, don't know about my BIL.
Reply:Nope Hailey had one and she can see just fine...

Everything clogged?
how common is it (if you live upstairs) that all of your sinks are clogged at the same time?
my sink is clogged
my toilet is clogged
my shower is clogged
how often does this happeN?
has it happened to you?
if i call the maintenance guy will they fix it? is it free? how big is this probleM??
what do you think is stuck in there?
could hair be clogged all of this?
how do i unclog it myself? what will make "IT" go away? will is discinigrate by itself?
help pleasssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeee
Everything clogged?
If everything is clogged, the main drain line is clogged. Call maintenance. It should be free if you are renting. It will not disintegrate on it's own.
Reply:You need to call a plummer / maintenance person to take a look.
If you live in an apartment, you let the owner know / if you are renting a house.
I've never never heard of everything being clogged at the same time, but maybe something is clogged where the water travels through to enter each seperate pipe. My advice- call someone.
Reply:Something is stuck in the main stack. Call the maintenance guy. He can either snake it out from the basement or from one of your drains.
Reply:This is bad I wouldn't fix it myself I'd have someone come in and fix it for you.
Reply:If you live upstairs, I'm guessing is a 2 stories appt. means that the main drain of the appts is clogged, so your neighboor downstairs must have the same problem, if not means that you have a separate main drain and needs to be unclogged as well. If you want to do it yourself is going to be hard but not imposible, you'll have to look for the main drains pipes in the basement or garden, you'll see a big screw (it is round an has a square hole in the center) that you can unscrew with a Ratchet and work from there with a manual tape for unclogging or the motorized ones, maybe you will have it done in no time, it hapened to me last year and I unclogged it sticking the garden hose at full blast in the main drain pushing and pulling till unclogged.
I'll recomend you if you are renting that you call the landlord and let him know what is happening, they should fix it for you at no cost at all, and if the lower appt. share the same probem and both are owners then both should pay to get it done by a plumber.
Reply:Call your landlord, first and set up an appt. to have the clog cleared.... DO NOT under any circumstances buy Drano or any other such product and attempt to unclog it yourself.... (This is from personal experience).... It will cause more damage.... However, AFTER the drains are cleared... In the future once a month or so..run regular household bleach down your drains... (toilet, sinks, tub etc...) that will help clear any future clogs....

Clogged Poors on my Nose, how do I fix?
My nose has so many clogged poors now, I want to un clog them, with out damaging. Last month, I pought one of those ponds things, I put it on my nose %26amp; pealed it off, it un-clogged a few poors. But now there is almost like a crator in place of the clogged poor. Like the thing that was clogging it was yellow. Now its gone but its dark in that hole, and it kinda indents. Anyway, does anyone know of a good way to unclogg all the poors on my nose?
Clogged Poors on my Nose, how do I fix?
Try a good but gentle facial cleanser; Noxema, Neutrogena, Cetaphil are all great choices. After you have washed and dried your face you need to apply a good pore toner which will help close your pores back up (the warm water opens your pores allowing them to be cleansed). I use Neutrogena pore toner.
Whenever your face is exposed to heat you need to remember to then cool it back down.
Hope this helps!

Girls wat is the best foundation that will give excellent flawless coverage, and will not clog pores?
I find that many foundations that give excellent coverage contain mineral oil, this clogs pores causing spots! is there an alternative?
Help!!!!
Girls wat is the best foundation that will give excellent flawless coverage, and will not clog pores?
I use Bare Essentials by i.d. You can get it at Ulta and Sephora. Just make sure you get the bisque with the concealing brush in addition to the full-coverage brush and foundation. It won't clog a single pore and it gives full coverage without looking "fake".
Reply:I order Sheer Cover. It's powder and so it feels light on your skin. It won't clog your pores. If you can't order it, then I would suggest other powder foundations. The liquid ones seep into your skin.
Reply:Writer of truth speaks the truth=
Bare Essentials (also called Bare Minerals).
I've tried it all, and now won't use another thing!
Reply:I use Maybelline Wonder Finish (liquid-to-powder foundation). I think it's very affordable and Fab :)
(it does not clog pores; it is hypoallergenic; super blendable and lightweight)
Reply:I have really oily, acne-prone skin that's hard to match with the right color. L'Oreal TrueMatch has been GREAT for me. Doesn't make me break out and covers smoothly. If you're shiny, put a little Mabelline Shine Control power on top - also non-comeodegenic and oil-free.
Reply:I like Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation, However what works and looks good on one person might not on another......
Reply:bare essentials BABY it works for your skin not against it!!!!!
Reply:You can also use a good primer which creates a protective layer between your face and your makeup. A primer that contains silicone can also reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines. I use Clean Slate by Tarte ($27 at Sephora) and there are many many other brands you can try too - just ask for a sample.

I am torn between two sides to an argument on vaseline : DOES IT CLOG PORES IF APPLIED TO FACE?

people tell me it clogs pores, but i have very dry skin and would like to use it on my face, but i wont without some reassurance,
I am torn between two sides to an argument on vaseline : DOES IT CLOG PORES IF APPLIED TO FACE?
Yes. Why would you put a petroleum product on your body? There are so many vegetal (plant) based products on the market that are natural and so much kinder to your skin.
Reply:you know i use to use Vaseline and i never had clogged pores but i started to use natural oils like extra virgin olive oil and it made my skin look very nice and it gave me the moisture i need and now when i take showers and dry my skin has a natural shine to it and I'm not as ashy when i let my skin dry completely. you can buy extra virgin olive oil at a 99 cent store they always have some there. you can also try oils like
sunflower, hemp, jojoba will work pretty much everywhere.
For deeper moisturizer , use solid oil like coconut, palm or shea butter.
PS extra virgin olive oil works great on hair too
Reply:Clean your skin before applying the Vaseline. This should prevent the Vaseline from trapping dirt and oil in your pores. I would not recommend Vaseline as a long term solution to dry skin. It will help chapped skin heal, but can appear greasy and spread to your clothes and bedsheets. After your skin has healed, switch to a strong night time moisturizer. I like Oil of Olay Night time Regenerist. It claims work for wrinkles and fine lines, but I find it can moisturize my skin and doesn't cause breakouts, so I use it even though I am too young to be worried about wrinkles.
Reply:Don't do it. It does clog pores.
Reply:Vaseline is petroleum oil. so yes, it does clog your pores.

The toilet in my apt has low water pressure and keeps getting clogged. What to do?
I've complained to my landlord who has sent out a plumber a couple of times. Each time they claim they fixed it--but I get home and it's still the same!
It clogs at least once a day. It feels like I spend more time in the bathroom plunging the toilet, than enjoying the rest of my apartment! I usually just plunge the heck out of it, but tonight it's not working. Is there anything else I can try?
The toilet in my apt has low water pressure and keeps getting clogged. What to do?
The problem is not the water pressure in the building. If it has been this way since you moved in then you can bet the problem is the toilet itself. One way to test to see if the sewer lines are blocked in the walls is to fill a 1-gallon bucket with water and pour that right into the center of the toilet bowl as fast as possible. If the toilet flushes normally then the lines are clear and the problem is in the basic design of the toilet. If this is an apartment, odds are that the landlord bought the cleapest toilet he could find, and more often than not, cheap toilets simply do not work well. When you flush it, if the water just swirls around lazily and never glug glugs down all the way, it is probably bad toilet design. The only way to fix this is to throw out the toilet and get a better (more expensive) one. $99 toilets are called 'builder's specials' and are basically garbage. Get one for $200 and it will work much better.
But the landlord does not give a damn if you have to spend all day in the bathroom plunging it. An answer might be to dump several gallons of water on the floor and then tell the landlord that the toilet keeps overflowing. Faced with the risk of water damage to the property and even bigger expense, the landlord might decide it is better to replace the toilet.
I have seen toilets that did not work properly simply because the toilet was a bad design. Simply replacing the toilet with a better model solved the problem. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise; I have seen this too many times.
Reply:If you have a low flow, old toilet, it may not be fixable. If you have low pressure and the pressure is used to assist flush, you might begin by closing and opening the cutoff valve to make sure it is all the way open.
Low flow toilets (required by law) take several forms - the one I just bought (Eljer Titan) works very well and is very quiet. It works by having a tallish tank and only sending the top half through the toilet - greater pressure because of the depth. Others feed the supply water to the bowl along with tank water so the supply water provides more force to push stuff out.
Reply:You could fill a container with about a gallon of water and pour it down the toilet when you flush - it works for my toilet
Reply:That has nothing to do with the water pressure. It is the drain or the vent for the drain. Somewhere in the line (outside at a very low point) there is a cleanout plug. Do yourself a favor and call a plumber for that one. The vent stack should go out the roof and have a top on it that lets the system breath. Sometimes the top gets damaged and animals get in the pipe and clog it up. Again it is an apartment and you may need to call a plumber for that one also. Maybe you can back charge the landlord when you get it fixed.
Reply:Without knowing what kind of toilet (and its inner works) you have, start by taking the lid off the water tank and see how much water is in there. Most toilets have a tall tube, usually white, about an inch in diameter, that comes almost to the top of the tank. The water level should be about 3/4" below the top of that tube. With the top still off, flush the toilet and see how long the 'flapper' stays up to let the water out: a well-functioning toilet will let almost all of the water out of the tank before before the flapper falls down to cover the flush-valve's hole. The flapper is connected to the flush-handle by a chain...if the chain is too loose, the flapper won't come up very high nor will it stay up long enough to empty the tank. If the chain is too tight, the tank will never fill up. Call the management and INSIST that they fix it; ask if their 'plumber' checked the clean-out, the vent pipes, etc.. A last thought: NEVER flush Q-tips, tampons, maxi-pads, paper towels or huge wads of toilet paper. Me, I often pour a big spaghetti-pot full of almost-hot water into a clogged toilet, usually with good results. And NEVER use Drano or LiquidPlumber in a toilet: if you read their labels, they say the same thing.
Reply:This has nothing to do with water pressure. Water pressure doesn't push the crud down the pipe. There are two possible causes that come to mind. One is that the drain pipe from the toilet to the main collection line (lower down) are partially plugged either because there is stuff contricting the flow or the pipe is too small a diameter. The toilet might not be all that well designed either. About the only thing you can do though is double flush. That is, when you are half way done, flush the thing, do some more and then flush again. It might be easier to flush two smaller batches down than one big one.

What can I do to stop Central Air Conditioner drainage from clogging up on an old house?
About three times a year the AC drain pipe clogs up and begins to leak by the filter. I have to run a garden hose and attach it to the pipes to clean it through. I know three times a year is way too many times. Is there any way to clean the pipe, such as chemicals that actually work?
What can I do to stop Central Air Conditioner drainage from clogging up on an old house?
Every weekend, while doing the laundry, pour a couple of caps full of bleach down the line. I added a little PVC extension to mine, with a cap.
A little goes a long way, if used regularly.
Reply:Are you attaching the hose to the pipe from the outside to free it up? If you are then you are just pushing the junk up in to the drain pan under the evaporator where it plugs up again.
You should be able to get the evaporator and pan clean enough to keep the pipe clean for a while. but I know accessing it on some installations can be real difficult. Can't help with that.
Reply:It's funny that u have to flush the line 3x a year. U must use the AC alot, otherwise, normal service is 1-every 3 years. They have a flex line brush that u can push it down the drain and clean the drain line that way and u can only buy it at aHVAC outlet. ( AC specialty store) where the service Tech. go to buy there parts.
Reply:go to an a/c dealer ask for antimold tablets, or get some at a pool dealer, [there bleach tablets ] like you use in a pool
small kind or use the big ones. only use 1 if big
put 4 or 5 in the drain pan by the drain opening,

Looking for a new foundation for skin prone to clogged pores?
i am and have been using clinique dewy smooth foundation for about 2 years now. it clogs my pores and breaks me out.. but ive tried switching to other foundations but nothing seems to look as good as this... im looking for a foundation that looks natural and doesnt bring out my dry patches. i really just need it to cover up my mild acne on my cheeks. until it will clear up and i can just stick with a tinted moisturizer. u was thinking about mineral foundation but i fear i wont use it correctly and it will bring out the dry patches on my skin and just wont look natural... any ideas?

Bare Minerals WON'T cover acne, I have acne and I use MAC, you can't go wrong with MAC. Their photo-finish is nice, or just explain your problem to the MAC girl at the counter and she'll help you choose one. Also, if you have acne do not exfoliate to much, you'll destroy the top layer of skin and the skin will produce more sebum and dry flaky patches to compensate, I know this sounds strange because you'd think it would be the other way around but if you have dry skin exfoliate more, oily skin with acne exfoliate less. If your getting dry patches it usually means your putting to many products on your skin. Most important thing with open pores is not to layer make up on and congest the skin. Also MAC do tinted foundations/moisturizers. I found Bare Minerals was hopeless on oily skin and sat in the pores and slid off the rest of the face. Hope this helps, Rhianna x
Reply:Get a mineral powder foundation. BareMinerals is still the best. It won't clog pores, looks very natural, and has a natural SPF. And weekly exfoliation with a gentle scrub should get rid of those dry patches.
Reply:The best way to look natural - is actually to be natural!
Try to avoid using foundation - just use a tinted moisturiser!
You are never going to really cover acne, so don't bother.
Reply:You should check out the foundations they have at Proactiv. Not only will it give a fresh look to your skin, but they are medicated! So, it will help in the healing process of your acne. Seriously, it's like a two for one deal. :)

Is there any way to reverse arterial build-up/clogging without medical help?
I was wondering if there were any way, without medical help such as surgery or prescription drugs, to reverse build-up that clogs the body's arteries. If yes, how? Is diet and exercise enough? I know they are good in preventing this but after its already started is there anyting one can do?
Is there any way to reverse arterial build-up/clogging without medical help?
Stop smoking
Add a glass of red wine a day
Exercise
And diet :)
Reply:Omega 3, fish oil and good diet and plenty of exercise, moderate not extreme should fix you up. Prayer and faith in the outcome you desire are the ultimate polish on everything.
Reply:Try donating blood...
Reply:yes, diet and exercise should be enough. just make sure you stay well hydrated and don't starve yourself.
Reply:Yoga might help depending on the severity of condition. Even though yoga is mostly known in the west only for its healthy lifestyle practice it was used in india to treat lot of diseases. Modern research on yoga proves that it can help cure some conditions not possible by medicines. (not hiv or leukemia) Ayurvedic medicine could be a choice but good practitioners are almost extinct. I would still go to a doctor because this is a common condition now and can be controlled with timely care.
Reply:Diet and exercise are the first line of treatment. If you are already having problems in this area I would not mess around but go to your doctor and start on lipid lowering medication ASAP
One Tablet of low dose aspirin daily would also be advisable

Anyone know a healthy foundation or concealer that doesnt clog your pores?
Even powder clogs mine which is annoying as i need it to cover up extra shine on my face!
Anyone know a healthy foundation or concealer that doesnt clog your pores?
There is only one product that can meet your criteria that is Bee Luscious Cosmetics their mineral foundation DOES NOT Contain BISMUTH which in turn Bare Minerals and other brands do contain that will irritate your skin and cause severe breaking out.
I have been a professional makeup artist for over 20 years and was introduced to Bee Luscious over a year ago, since using these products on my exclusive clients I have found a remarkable line that truly is good for the skin.

It is exactly as marketed, skin smoothing and makes my face look more radiant. I would like that the compact open fuller so that I can use the mirror better but other than that it is a must have!"

its an inexpensive yet long lasting system that is tailored to your skin tone. If you buy it on line they usually throw in an extra gift. Its a mineral foundation that has not clogged my pores or broke me out in the year I have used it. it creates a flawless "fresh faced" look - it doesn't give that "MADE UP" look that a lot of foundations give. Also it lets your skin breathe. Complete satisfaction is guaranteed. %26amp; it comes with a strong concealer that matches skin tone
Hope it helps
Reply:I use kms mineral essentials. I love it because it settles differently on my skin than regular powders do. It glides on top, does not settle in to lines and creases. Mineral makeup does not clog your pores, and it is healthy because it is completely 100% natural. The mineral veil not only helps control the shine but it gives your complexion a smooth airbrushed type look.
I hope that helps!

How does the fat in the foods we eat clog up your bloodstream?
How is it that fat in our foods clogs up our bloodstream? What is the scientific answer to that?
How does the fat in the foods we eat clog up your bloodstream?
cholesterol collects in your blood veins until it clogs.
Reply:It works exactly the same as how sediments collect at a bend in a river and eventually choke it off forming an oxbow lake or pond. Only your arteries/veins are a closed system so they just clog.
Reply:It's called atherosclerosis. The fat builds up in the form of deposits on your veins and arteries, so the pathway the blood flows through narrows, making it harder for the blood to move. When these deposits completely block an artery that leads to the heart, the blood doesn't get to the heart and heart failure occurs.

What is a good cheap moisterizer what will not clog my pores or break me out?
I have over sensitive skin and have found nearly every moisterizer clogs my pores...even when it says it will not. I have tried the Pro-Activ but it makes my face peel and redden. So any tips on preventing acne and a moisterizer for when I wash my face?
What is a good cheap moisterizer what will not clog my pores or break me out?
Moisturizers clog your pores because they are Mineral Oil based. Only vegetable oils penetrate the skin. Try a small amount of mayonnaise on your face followed by a mild soap and water wash. No, you won't stink.
Reply:Avon makes this REALLY nice stuff that smells wonderful called Nutura. It's in a orange container. Very soft and sheer, great for sensitive skin
Reply:Yes, Cetaphil is wonderful. Very mild. They make a cleanser and a moisturizer, and I use both for my oily skin.
Reply:Cetaphil wash Murad moisturizer for oily skin
Reply:Switch to bare mineral makeup..its the only thing that cleared my skin. I get compliments daily on my skin..something i never would have thought of. They also make a line called MD formulations..all products are free of un-natural products and are gentle on sensitive skin. i swear by it, but unforunately the price of beauty is not cheap but it's the only thing that has really helped me. Good Luck!
Reply:aveeno is really good if you tend to have sensitive skin, its not really cheap, but there are generic versions of it. try looking at walmart, the cheap on should be right next to the expensive brand

What is the best way to prevent a clogged sink?
we have a hair drainer, so not much gets down there. most chemicals dont get rid of the hair. every couple months it clogs up and we have to use the plumbing snake, but that only helps for a little while.
What is the best way to prevent a clogged sink?
you might want to try a foaming drain cleaner, or get a pipe cleaner that hooks up to the house water supply %26amp; uses jets of water to clean the pipe.
Reply:Take the trap out. Clean it well or replace it. Then, just keep solids from going down it.
You probably have some serious scum build-up in the trap.
Reply:Flush it with hot water often. Turn on the hot water and let it run for about 2 minutes. Whenever you snake it dump a couple pans of scalding water down the drain to rinse the residual residue still laying in the drain. Then flush it with more hot tap water. Sometimes a restriction in the vent pipe will cause a drain to clog frequently because the water doesn't go down as fast as it should even after it's been snaked. I took a garden hose on full blast and shoved it down the vent as far as it would go several times to really clean it out. This made a big difference. I haven't had any problems for over 2 years now.

What is the best way to clean my clogged shower drain?
I have used drano in the past %26amp; it works for about 5 months but then clogs again. Is there a better way to clean it?
What is the best way to clean my clogged shower drain?
We had the same problem and called a plumber. He used a snake to remove the clog. However, he said next time we can do it ourselves. You can get a snake for around $10. You just feed it through the pipes and wind it up till it is in, and then pull it back out.
P.S. I'm not talking about a real snake, but a tool called a snake.
Reply:Try a 2 big tablespoons of baking soda, then pour 1/4 cup portions of vinegar, it will foam up, repeat, you may want to plunge afer each time.
Also get a drain catcher for hair, any hardware store
Reply:Try these tips using a hand auger or one that canbe used with an electrical drill.

Reply:Clone is right. The mechanical approach is best. Chemicals are bad. Hand snake works great and saves a lot of money in plumber bills.
Reply:The first thing I check is to see if there is hair in the drain that can be easily removed. You could also try snaking it, but if this is a recurring problem, I suggest calling a plumber or roto-router (sp?). Make sure you call and get quotes.

Infant throwing up alot, coming through nose and clogging airway.. please help..out of options..?
Does anyone elses baby throw up and it comes out there nose as well.. my little man does this and it clogs his airway and he stops breathing.. i had to call 911 the other day because i couldnt get him breathing again.. i use the nasal aspirator to suck it out but sometimes it dont really work.. im so scared that something bad is going to happen.. i really need help. Hes been to the doctor a million times, recently he seen a GI specialist and they ran a million test and everything came back normal except he has a milk/soy protein allergy.. so he has been on Elecare formula for 1 week and 3 days... He is still throwin up so much... does this formula maybe take a long time to work or is he goin to just keep puking and choking like this??? He is also on .7ml of zantac 3 times a day.. wich in my opinion duz nothing to help the puking... we tried prevaid and he couldnt tolerate it, it gave him stomach pains and diarea... Doctor recomended reglan, but after just one dose he screamed and screamed in pain and plus iv heard way to much bad stuff about reglan so i never gave it to him again... Im so scared he is goin to quit breathing for good .. but the doctors act like there is nothing left to do and im just over reacting and i need to just deal with it... Can anyone out there recomend anything or at least just tell me they had this same issue with the choking and that it will all be ok... oh and cereal isnt an option.. the doctors said absolutely NO cereal in the bottle this young... Please help.. i dont want something to happen to my little man... Any advice or stories are very much appreciated
Infant throwing up alot, coming through nose and clogging airway.. please help..out of options..?
I would get a second, third and many more opinions before settling on this issue. Throwing up like this does not sound normal and you have a right to feel the way you do.
The only advise that I can offer is to make sure that the formula is warmed up. Make sure to warm it up on the stove and do not microwave it.
Reply:cut all dairy from your diet and get that baby back on the breast, sounds like he has an intolerance to cows milk based formula's
possibly even reflux, which is further compounded by formula's
Reply:If you don't want to follow the recommendations of your current doctor, see another doctor for a second opinion. I'm sorry to say, but there is not much else that you can do, except what advice your doctor has given you. If you see a different physician, he may order the tests to be done again, and you may find something different that the first tests missed. Make sure you tell the doctor every tiny detail about what you feed, when he vomits, how and when he sleeps. You might have to change his feeding schedule and leave him in a sitting position while he sleeps. Most babies will grow out of this.
Reply:I will fisrt say AMEN..I thought I was the only person in the world that had a baby with this problem and I was just a paranoid mother...
My little girl does the same thing ! and I too have called 911 and taken 3 trips to the Er because she stopped breathing - had milk comming out her nose etc.
the syringe works to an extent, but isnt the answer. I have had her sleeping with me since day one because I am so afraid that she will do this in the middle of the night and quit breathing.
they have done some tests, but not given her any medications - she was born a month early and they said that because she was so small ,that I need to expect the unexpected..one thing I did do that helped a little was i bought a few bottles that I actually had to poke the hole in the nipple,so I made it real small, so she would have to work to drink it,and because it comes out in smaller amounts and slower she doesnt seem to have as much of a problem.
Its been 2 1 /2 weeks since I did this and 2 1/2 weeks that we havnt had a stop breathing episode. She still spits it out her nose a little but not nearly as much.
I also keep a cool mist humidifier running all the time now which seems to help with clogged noses and mucous
Reply:I had a premie may years ago that brought up the food, a lot when I laid her down. I kept her in my arms a lot with her head in the crock of my elbow for as long as I could after having her bottle. As she grew, the problem disappeared, she is now 47, it all turned out well. The Breast feeding if possible would be a good idea, and keeping the head elevated a little is worth a try. The milk allergy needs your attention. That would be relieved with breast feeding. If the breast milk is not possible search for alternative to what he is now taking . Most of all you need to relax, take a deep breath or two, and work on the solution. Best wishes and Gods blessing to you and your little man

Reply:hi, I am sorry to hear your little man is having this promblem. I wil tell you that it is going to get better, but it will be a very hard time and feel like a long road ahead. Years down the road you will be the one mother out of ten who say, it makes me smile to thin back but I would never go back to the baby stage. wile other moms, only wish they could go back. My sister had this promblem with her baby. They had a heart moniter on the baby at all times. after the baby made it three months with no promblems they took her off it. I know your doctor said absoluty no cereal, but the only thing that did help my sisters baby was a teaspoon of baby cereal in every bottle. It heps te formula to stay down instead of coming back up. No iron was to be in the babys formula either. They did put the baby on medicine and she swore and the intire family swore that it did not help. She said it even made the baby spit and puke more. It was like the puking scenes from the exorcist, she would just puke at any time. She as instructed to keep the baby on the medicine and she did. After a year the ababy was fine. Her baby girl is now four and you would never guess that she ever had a problem. Unfortetnetly , with my sister she backed away from the baby and never could form a bond with her. So , although I am not a doctor , i am just a mother I would advise as many second opinions as you can get. You are the mother and if you feel cereal might help, I say try it. Mothers know best is what my mother always said. and Ihope things get better. If you would like more information on this go ahead and write me at kidsstuff@rock.com and maybe you and my sister could talk.
Reply:I think I would get a second opinion from another doctor, it might be partially from the zantac, maybe he got a little better and the zantac keeps it going, but I don't know if zantac does that. For seizures they give the people medicine that if you don't have seizures causes them, so if they get better the medicine keeps the seizure going. But really see another doctor some are just better than others. I hope he gets better, good luck.
Reply:my son is the same way, when he throws up his formual its ALOT and it comes thruogh his nose, i have a doc appt. for it but until then, i dont know, GL!
Reply:Find another doctor, some just don't care as much as others, there has to be something else you can do. Try another hospital another specialist, until you find someone who listens and cares about you. Is it still possible for you to nurse? Do you have any milk left? If so that may be a option. I really think you should get him to a different doc though cause that sounds messed up and they shouldn't send you home like that. Do you have a children's hospital in your area?

MAC Studio Fix Foundation Powder-- Does it clog pores?
Would like to know it clogs pores and causes breakouts??
MAC Studio Fix Foundation Powder-- Does it clog pores?
Yes it does, I used to work at M.A.C and some of the products are actually made with oil. I've seen dozens of girls buy this product and return it after their skin broke out- that's why I personally never used it. We werent supposed to tell them it could break them out- because we were supposed to sell sell sell, so if you go into M.A.C they'll tell you it's perfectly fine.
Reply:pleaseeee do not use this.
my friend used it, she used to have fairly good skin.
now everyone at our school calls her 'zit mountain'
%26amp; everyone says she has the worst skin in the city.
really, it makes your skin pretty bad.
Reply:MAC Foundations and powders are horrible! I only use their liners and shadows.
Reply:It depends on your skin type as well as the makeup. But in all honesty, all make-up clogs pores, that is why you need to wash really well, use astringent and a moisturizer.
Reply:Mac is a professional brand which is designed not to clog the pores. Most brands nowadays, especially the professional brands, are non-comodogenic. Which means non pore clogging. If you wash your face properly, very few make-ups will clog.
Just make sure you have adequate cleansers and moisturiser.
Reply:it totally does i returned it all they suck i broke out the next day
Reply:thanks for the comments, and thanks to u for asking the question.i was about to buy it.ehehehe
Reply:I have combination / oily skin and have been using it for about a month and have had no issues with it.
Reply:omg LIKE CRAZY.
my friend used it for like a month %26amp; her WHOLE forhead COVERED in zits.
and then she stopped using it cuz someone finally told her how bad it was. and she started using neutrogena stuff
yeah so. [=

I had tinnitus but little bit, now after ear wax clog ears, it's endless why???
these days i've had my ear clogged from earwax for 2 days and i wasn't able to get it cleaned. Today it seems it unclogged itself but now i have a constant hiss. Is this permanent? I've had 3 or 4 of these ear wax clogs before. but i never had the constant hissing
What to do?
I had tinnitus but little bit, now after ear wax clog ears, it's endless why???
Hi Bestos
You have a major infection and the wax is actually absorbing the virus (in the form of wax). Here is a method that works extremely well and will pull out the wax and the infection. Do this for 3-4 days in a row and your health will clear up. Be sure to drink a gallon of water a day as well. THis helps flush out the toxins and filters the blood. This link explains the ear candle method.

Best of health to you
Reply:I have had the same disease for about twenty five years and no it does not go away. I have gone deaf in my right ear where I have the disease and I still have the ringing and hissing. the doctors I have seen told me it is caused by very loud noises earlier in life I am 65 and mine was probably caused by jet engine noise when I was in the air force for eight years. I do hope you have better luck than I but you do learn to live with it. Best of luck!

What's the best thing to use for a stubborn clog??
This bathroom sink clogs periodically, then will be fine for a while.
When it does clog, however, 'black stuff' comes out of the drain when you plunge it???????
What's the best thing to use for a stubborn clog??
time to replace your waste pipe, you may get away with cleaning/renewing the trap beneath the sink waste, but I see this all the time with pipes that are at least 10 years old, check the whole length of the waste pipe run too, if it goes uphill at any stage this will slow the flow and allow easier clogging.
Reply:Try this:
In the evening when you definitely will not run any water in the bathroom sink for the rest of the evening--take a bottle of Liquid plumber and pour the entire bottle down the sink,,,,,follow this with 8 ounces of water. And leave it there all night.
Your drain problem is not underneath the sink in the ''trap'',,,it is further on in the drain. This gives it a chance to start breaking it up.
Reply:girls put a lot of things down the drain...hair...soaps...make up....creams and more....that might be the black stuff u see that builds up over time....best thing is to remove the trap under the sink....when its removed look down the drain and if the walls of the tail pipe ( which is the pipe attached to the sink about 6 inches long ) is clogged in any way then use so sort of stick or butter knife and try to push the muck through ( have a bucket ready to catch anything that might fall through....be sure to also clean out the drain that u removed....feel up inside the other end of the pipe where the trap was screwed to....hair may be up inside
Reply:Pour one cup baking soda, one cup of white vinegar, and one cup boiling water down the drain. Let it set for 30 minutes, and flush with cold water. The bubbling reaction of the BS and vinegar will clean the drain. If you do this once a week, it will keep the drain clean.
Reply:check out www.wacky-uses.com it offers answers for everything! also try arm %26amp; hammer baking soda, it's a miracle!

Can putting moisterizing cream on my face clog my pores?
And cause pimples? i have really dry skin so i need to use moisterizing cream but i was just wondering if it clogs my pores..
Can putting moisterizing cream on my face clog my pores?
It can. Use one specifically for the face that says "non-comedogenic"...that means it shouldn't clog your pores.
Neutrogena is good.
Reply:1] You should buy facewash, sunscreen, and moisturizer for your face type - make sure it says 'non-comedegenic'
[ doesn't cause zits or clog pores ].
2] Use Clearasil or other acne cream for occasional zits, and 3] exfoliate with Aapri or St. Ives apricot scrub 2 x a week.
4] eat a quality diet - no fried, fast, or junk food - even diet junk food
5] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day
6] take a quality multivitamin with minerals every day - a liittle bit of one element can make a big difference
7] keep your hands off your face, except when you are washing it!

How can I keep my hairspray from clogging?
Everytime I buy a new hairspray, it clogs very quickly and shoots a stream or sprays everywhere. Is there some product that does not do this or is there a way to fix it. I tried running hot water on the nozzle, but it does not work.
How can I keep my hairspray from clogging?
try sitting the nozzle in hot water to soak
try spraying hot water through the stem/sprayer
Reply:Change brands. I have used White Rain aerosol pump since they first came out with it and it works just fine.
Reply:I've yet found a product that doesn't do this. You can pick the clog off, I've even used a lighter to melt it enough to pick off. What you could do is everytime you use it, wipe it.
Reply:Try using a straight pin to further unclog it. Rinse afterwards with very hot water. I use Pantene products %26amp; never have that problem. Maybe you should return the spray to the store where you purchased it, if it doesn't spray right after one use.
Reply:I use to have the same problems until Istarted using TRESemme Products. Ever since I started using TRESemme I haven't had any problems with my hairspray.
Reply:The only thing I can tell you is to wipe off the nozzle with alcohol after you use it. Running it under hot water has always worked for me too, though.
Reply:try rinsing the tip under hot water and then turn the can upside down and blow the excess out of the nossle the same way you would clear the head on a can of spray paint.
Reply:Rinse it under warm water right after the application and sometimes you have to take off the spray cap and run that under water too.

Why does my graphics card fan clog with dust so quickly?
my nvidia geforce 8600gt 256mb pcie graphics card clogs up with dust, i have 2 clean it every 2 weeks.....i once went 4 weeks and the computer would turn off suddenly....the fan had stopped moving
Why does my graphics card fan clog with dust so quickly?
Could be a number of things or a combination of them....
your tower is not fitted....you have an older system that sucks air in instead of blowing air over and out of your case...it's located (tower) in a dusty environment....your expansion slots don't have the cover strips on them when they are not occupied..your tower is sitting on the carpet near your feet and your foot motion creates extra dust. Check for these things and correct as necessary. When cleaning, take care...use an antistatic wrist strap and don't put a metal vacuum anywhere near your PC.
Reply:your house or workspace/area might be dusty or dirty...try cleaning it..
Reply:Make sure the area around your PC is as dust free as possible.
It would also be a good idea to clean the dust inside the entire PC, otherwise it just keeps circulating inside the case.
Make sure you are static free and the PC is off :)
Reply:No offense but... It's because your house is a scumhole and you sit on your *** playing video games too much.
Reply:try cleaning your house more often. dont have your computer on the floor where it can suck in dust

How exactly does your nose actually clog up?
What are the details on how your nose clogs up?
How exactly does your nose actually clog up?
inhaling something that irritates your nasal mucosa will start an inflammatory response right there on the spot and inflammation will cause your nose to increase secretions, if these isn't sneezed out effectively, then it clog up your nose. it usually happens to hypersensitive and allergic persons.
Reply:You can have the mucous membranes to actually swell as in an allergic reaction, or there is an over production of mucous that will cause it.
Reply:it really sucks, when you sneeze, or cry or just have a cold. when you have any of these things going on the membrane in your nazel passage way swells up and closes off the airway. when you stop crying it usually takes a little while to go away, but when you have a cold it lasts for days making your life miserable. try some cold medicine, but the best way is to let it run its coarse.
Reply:you nose collects dust and pollen. and your nose hairs trap these items,, therefore clogging up your nose
Reply:the mucous glands produce mucous, and this dries up with the incoming air

How to get rid of a clogged nose?
I've had it for a couple of days now and the nasal sprays don't work neither do meds. When im walking around or standing up for a while its fine, but when i sit or lay down for a while it clogs like crazy. How do I get rid of this?
How to get rid of a clogged nose?
Take a hot shower and breathe through or try to through your nose. all the nastiness in your nose will liquify
Reply:Sniff some of the Vicks Vapor stuff. Also I know this sounds simple, but try blowing your nose. Just to let you know, do not put the vapor rub directly on your nose, as it will leave a red burning sensation. Just put the jar to your nose and sniff. Hope this helps.
Reply:I can relate! It's frustrating, isn't it?
Sounds like a problem with your turbinates -- those little "bowls" of water in our nasal cavities. They lie in a "horizontal" direction in the nose (see the graphic on the website listed in the Source box).
My doctor explained to me several years ago the proper way to blow my nose to empty those turbinates...so I would have less sinus problems overall (and 15 years later, so far, so good!):
1. Loosen everything up by creating a humid environment...preferably of warm, moist air (i.e., lay a really warm washcloth-compress on your face; put a towel over your head and bend over a sink of hot water for several minutes, etc.).
2. Once you feel the mucus beginning to loosen, bend over at the waist (the upper body is perpindicular to the floor), and then blow your nose.
If you can visualize them as little bowls of water, you can better understand why bending over works to empty them out. It also makes sense that they would clog or drain down your throat when lying down.
My doctor also said that our goal is to have clear nasal mucus...yellow and / or green colors signify an infection.
It may take a few times before you feel like your nose is cleared out such that it won't be a bother when you lay down...
Hope this helps!
Reply:Cut it off. LOL I also have allergies about 9 months out of the year, When the phone rings everyone always says (I'm sorry did I wake you up?). I wish there was an easy answer. Sorry.
Reply:get a neti pot. You can get one at a health food store or online. You can use it with warm salty water or if you are really stuffed up go to a drugstore and ask for a bottle of alkalol (not alcohol). Use it in the neti pot diluted with warm water
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neti_pot
Reply:Oh I've had that and it's a miserable time. A neti pot is very helpful. It cleans out your nose and it's so much easier to breathe. But if you don't have or can't get a neti pot (amazon.com or a health food center) take a hot shower and let the water run into your nose. Breathe through your mouth. Or the very warm cloth across your face acts just as well. Then blow. All that stuff will come out and maybe even some blood. You may have to do it several times a day, but it works.
Reply:Stop taking the nasal sprays right now. They can cause what's called rebound congestion. That is, they do clear the nasal passages at first but for some reason the nasal passages end up swelling up worse than if you didn't use it. A pharmacist or doctor could explain it better. You might have allergic rhinitis that is causing your nose to feel stuffy and clogged. Try an allergy medicine like Aerius or Claritin (non-drowsy) or Benadryl (can cause drowsiness) to help get the swelling down. You might also want to check with a doctor about a prescription nasal spray that doesn't cause rebound congestion. Nasonex and Flonase are two good ones to ask about.
Reply:Try sinupret tablet. It's an over the counter drug. It could be an allergic rhinitis, and your doctor should give you an anti-histamin. I have the same problem as yours, but it was dramatically changed when I started water theraphy. I discontinue medicines. Proper diet, regular 8 hour sleep, exercise and plenty of waters will make you less susceptible to sickness.
Reply:Well, my first piece of advice is to eat something spicy or hot. you can use anything. but if that doesn't work, there is another method, called acupressure. It's really simple, and easy to do.
Perform the below routine 3 times:
--------------------------------------...
1. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity at the corner of the nostrils (point 1). You should almost close and open the nostrils when you do the round movement.
2. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity just below the corner of the eyes near the nose (point 2)
3. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity just below the ear, behind the earlobe (point 3)
4. Massage the earlobe 10 times (point 4)
--------------------------------------...
After performing the above 3 times, you should feel immediate relief of your nasal congestion. It is advised to return on the above procedure again in about 10 minutes to make it more permanent or the congestion could return.
P.S. Go to the address below for more instructions, with pictures and everything.
AND if that doesn't work, try lying down on your stomach with your face facing sideways. Just sleep like that. It will allow you to get at least half of a good nights sleep. however, you have to deal with the stuffy nose again in the morning. THIS IS A LAST RESORT!!!
Reply:The only nasal spray I can use is Rhinaris and only when absolutely necessary. If your problem of breathing is only when laying down then you should get that tape that goes over your nose - gosh what's it called now - can't find it on internet with search term using. You just tape it across your nose bridge. I used it a few times when my dad was visiting and it did wonders for me.
I also have my own little remedy may not be advisable but it works for me! I take a qtip and dip it in vicks vaporub making sure to remove any excess (squeezing the qtip with my fingers) and then I take that and gently rub the inside of my nostrils as far as is comfortable for me... and it works - I'm not recommending just telling you what works for me when nothing else does! good luck!!

I take a qtip and dip it in vicks vaporub making sure to remove any excess (squeezing the qtip with my fingers) and then I take that and gently rub the inside of my nostrils as far as is comfortable for me... and it works - I'm not recommending just telling you what works for me when nothing else does! good luck!!

Hot water unclogs your PORES. dirt and oil clog them.

Reply:when you don't wash your face often your pore get cloged. Oil is always building up on your face, which is why its important to wash your face often. Your face can get more oily if your hair is always in your face. If you have bangs i would recomend washing your face twice as much. Also when you play sports or workout, you sweat and sweat can also clogue your pores. I would recomend buying a cleaser. It cleans deep down into pores and helps unclogue then. Make sure its a foaming cleanser though (try Aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser) it wont irritate your skin.

What unclogs them - deep cleansing facial masks and scrubs.. or a facial :-)

Is it pratical to dilute the blood with saline to avoid clog during the whole course of Hemodialysis?
My friend had a fistula made yesterday and found his left arm swelling today and his temperature is 37.2 degrees C this eveninig. and also his left arm is sore. This morning, he went to have dialysis using his old access in the neck. He was not given EPO to abate the clog in his blood, he was given saline instead, totally 2 bags.
He feels his heart stuffy and full. Whether he can continue using saline to dilute his blood for the purpose of avoiding clogs in his blood while dialysis is going ? Is there any risk to abate clog like this?
Is it pratical to dilute the blood with saline to avoid clog during the whole course of Hemodialysis?
It is perfectly fine to use no heparin during dialysis if medically warranted. Thus, normal saline flushes every 30 min's is needed to keep the system ( dialyzer/lines ) from clotting. The amount every 30 min's depends on the protocol/policy of the clinic. Two bags ( assuming these are your typical 1 L. bags ) does seem excessive. Yet, I wasn't the nurse taking care of your friend. The extra fluid should be calculated into the fluid removal goal, thus the extra fluid given as flushes won't be a problem. The swelling, soreness is not unusual. I'd keep an eye on the temperature, yet if the surgery was just a day before, unlikely it is the fistula surgery , it takes days for a 'break' in surgery %26amp; contamination to cause infection. The access won't be used immediately, someone should have explained this. The access in his neck will be used until the swelling is down %26amp; healing is finished. 2 weeks to one month. Of course the nephrologist or surgeon needs to OK the use. Hope this helped :)
Reply:I'm not sure I completely understand your question. We use to use Heparin to keep the blood from clotting during dialysis. yes we gave NACL too.. we would bolis it if the patients blood pressure dropped. the problem with giving excess fluids, such as NACL is that the kidneys cant process the fluid out, in most case. And Dialysis pptients are usually on fluid restrictions.. So I dont know why they would give your friend 2 bags of fluid. That would make him retain fluid, thus making his chest feel full and possibly hard to breath. Sounds like he may have an infection brewing at tthe site of his new graft. But you cant access a new gratf right after surgery anyway. Hope this helped.

Why does TWC Business Class clog on a linksys router?
We have Time Warner Cable business class and a 50.00 linksys router. (WRT54GS) But every once in a while, the router clogs an the internet shuts off. Why is this? TWC has a Piece o' crap tech service.
So maybe you can help.
Why does TWC Business Class clog on a linksys router?
It varies, if this is happening later in the evening it could be a return issue. Even if the cable gets really hot in the summer and the cable plant has excessive noise in it, that can cause your internet to drop off. It could also be that you're running out of bandwidth, this will happen if you have a slow speed package and trying to run several computers at the same time over the internet.
One thing you can do to rule out cable signal issues is to log into your cable modem/router and check the upstream and downstream power levels, if the up is over 60dbmv then you have a return issue which requires a service call. If your up is in the 40dbmv range that's perfect for most cable plants.
Also you can call the customer support center and ask them to tell you what your "return level" is for your internet connection. While you have them on the phone ask them about network performance, they can tell you if your node is over saturated.

How to clean/deoderize leather clog shoes...?
i have a pair of leather clogs with fabric insoles and rubber bottoms. i noticed they are starting to get that funky foot smell. i have febreezed them and that doesn't seem to help. i don't know what else to do to clean/deoderize them. i don't want to throw them away and i worry if i wash them they will get ruined...
can anyone offer a suggestion to me
How to clean/deoderize leather clog shoes...?
Put them outside for a week. My former husband has the worst smelly feet and thats what I would do with his. Also try getting a big box of baking soda, fill a couple of socks with it and put them in the shoes for a week. Then keep them in the shoes when not wearing them. If you wear them alot then put them in at night.
Good luck
Reply:Can fabric insoles be removed for washing? If not, sprinkle baking soda on insoles whenever you wear them.

Whats a good makeup to use that wont clog pores?
sheer minerals
bare minerals?
Ive been useing the neutragena mineral makeup and it clogs my pores so bad! ..also whats a good face soap that wont clog pores.. Neutragena is to greacy for me
Whats a good makeup to use that wont clog pores?
cool avatar!
what is your skin type? I use a cream cleanser by aveeno for gentle cleansing. I also have the daily face scrub by Aveeno - really works gently on my nose/blackheads, etc.
You could also try Cetaphil cleanser - it cleans, and doesn't strip your skin.
(I use MAC make-up - liquid foundation - doesn't clog pores. For a mineral make-up - I'd try bare escentuals.)
Reply:Bare Escentials is the one -- no other copycat.
Reply:SHeer and bare made me itch...has bismuth oxychloride in it.
Loreal and covergirl and a buncha others have talc, that clogs your pores!
I use LAminerals and it is fantastic! Creamier feeling than bare, better coverage and more staying power. I use their HOllywood foundation the most, but occasionally the NoHoGlo foundation too. Never breaks me out. No talc or bismuth in it.
Oh..they have samples for like $1 and ship em free.
Reply:bare essentuals
Reply:physician's formula, sheer minerals or bare escentials are all really good makeups. anything that says non comedgenic on the back will not clog pores. for a cleanser get any kind of scrub cleanser with 2% saylic acid and that will really clean out your pores!
Reply:Bare Essetials, but don't buy the starter kit it is a waste of money just go to Sophoria or Ulta and get them to match your skin color and just buy the one color!
Reply:they are the same, use bare minerals, its great!! a bit pricey but worth it, you can find it cheap on ebay.

Mower issues: chute keeps clogging?
I've got a 21" Honda mower, side bagger (HRS21). Terrific machine, except that the chute typically clogs before the bag is half full. The bag is clean, so the airflow through it is good.
My old rear-bagger was just as bad.
My grass is quite thick %26amp; heavy, %26amp; my yard holds a lot of moisture. I seldom go more than a week without mowing.
Raking sucks %26amp; my dogs eat the clippings %26amp; get sick, so leaving the bag off is not an option.
Would switching to a mulching blade along with the bag help?
If not, what are my other options?
Cutting more often isn't really an option either, as I have to work around Mother Nature's precipitation schedule.
Mower issues: chute keeps clogging?
cut when the grass is as dry as posible. later in the day is best. Slow down and when you're cutting, and only cut about 3/4 of the width of the machine. be sure the underside of the mower is clean, too (no grass buildup).
you're trying to force too much grass through a small hole at a time. that's why it clogs.
cut your grass more often and it won't be as deep.. or as wet. it will be easier to keep from clogging.
Reply:what time of day are you mowing? If it is the morning, you have condensation problems clogging the chute.
If you could try raising the height of the wheels so you are not cutting as much off, usually you should cut less than 1/3 of the height of the grass at any one time.
Another idea could be to try to use silicone spray on the chute and hopefully nothing will stick to the side. I am not sure on that one but it seems like it should work if you spray the surface and let it dry. If you use anything on the mower I would say to make sure it is nonflamable when it dries.
Reply:All good answers, you can also raise the cutting level on the first pass then lower it to the normal level and do a second pass.
Reply:I had the same problem until I started mowing later in the day after some of the moisture had evaporated out of the lawn.
Reply:Man! I know how you feel!! I think the mulching balde will help!! But your best option is simply cutting more offten, but i know it's nor practical for you. Their are chemicals you can buy that slow the growth of your lawn. They are expensive, and hard to find, cuz they are only at lawn care fertilizers stores. We use them on the roadways to slow down the growth of grass.
good luck!!!!

Why does the toilet or bathroom sink clog more often than the kitchen sink?
I've poured pounds of food particles down my kitchen sink, and I don't even have a in-sink grinder, and the sink never clogs. But one well-timed dump can clog the toilet like that. Why is that?
Why does the toilet or bathroom sink clog more often than the kitchen sink?
its true, hair etc, are the main culprits of stoppages in the bathroom, but remember, the difference between the kit %26amp; bath are open drains in the kitchen and a waterdrain stopper in the sinks in the bathrooms. the stoppers hang down into the trap area and usually catch hair etc and tend to clog it more often than the kitchen and open drains.
note: just remove the stopper from the drain and clean the hair off the stopper every other month or sooner if necessary. clean the trap too.
as for your toilet, they do not have traps in the lines...they are in the toilets themselves.
lnote: if you are getting stoppage in the 3"-4" lines for your sewer b4 it hits your kitchen sink area, its because you either have roots growing in the lines and the line may have cracked and therefore allowing the roots to penetrate the lines and when the waste is furthered with the toilet paper it grabs on to the roots and clogs the lines...coupled with the hair etc going down the bath sink; its a traffic jam.
remedy: you need to roto-root the lines between the kitchen and the bathroom area.
!!! if you notice a wet spot or lots of green grass growing outside the home in a particular spot, that may be the spot where the line is broken and you need to dig it up and repair the line.
Reply:Hair ! .. it all goes down the Tub an Sink the bathroom !
Reply:Hair!! It traps so much soap buildup and toothpaste and other products too that adds to the mess. Get a small drain screen, this should help
Reply:to much toilet paper. some toilet paper feel like cloth. stay away from Charman and Angel Soft . feel like cloth, bad for the toilet.
Reply:The bathroom pipe is smaller and theirs hair in it. Usually the hair get hung up on the maechanism that closes the drain. Kitchen doesn't have that.
Reply:more crape goes into them
Reply:Do you wah your hair in the kitchen sink?
See? That`s why ;)
Reply:more hair goes down the drain of the sink and tub
Reply:My hypothosis is all the hair that goes down the bathroom drains causes the toilet to back up. Hair doesn't rot like food does and isn't as biodegradable. One time the maintenance man came to my apartment that I had lived in for four years because my shower/bath was draining so slow. When I came home he had pulled enough hair out of the drain it was the size of a rabbit...lmao!!!! I was so embarrassed.
Reply:don't use so much tp...also call a plumber...let him deal with it

Why do our drains clog in 5 year old house? both bathrooms, bathtub, toilet, sink...?
not the kitchen sink. unclog it with draino foaming plumber, works perfectly for a few weeks on the tub, longer on other stuff.. then it clogs again. why? our house is almost new and plumbing done by lisc. professionals. only two adults occupy home, 1 baby.
Why do our drains clog in 5 year old house? both bathrooms, bathtub, toilet, sink...?
besides the obvious things like hair, paper, bobby pins, little plastic caps off disposable razors.have plumber check to see if your plumbing is vented properly, poor venting will slow down drainage and toilet flushing also it is illeagle and hazardous.
Reply:It could be bad connections to the drain pipe or clogged drains. Maybe the house plumbing contractor didn't do a good job with the drains. Check the outside register and clean the drain pipe with a 100 ft plumber snake.
Maybe the drain doesn't have the correct slope or the PVC pipe has a bad connection where things got trapped.
Reply:look in your drain and get ya tweezers ready and sick them in the hole and turn them in a clockwise motion and you will pull out a clump of hair... Im willing to bet one if not both of you have long hair
Reply:Do you have any trees growing in your yard? If you do, it could be roots growing into the pipe, but that is probably unlikely in just five years. I would suggest have a roto-rooter guy put a camera down the pipe and what is the hold up, he will probably have to run a snake down the clean it up. Good luck.

Toilet on main floor clogging often - cesspool problem?
The toilet clogs. I plunge it and it clears. The next day - same thing. I tried the Home depot pressurized plunger, and I have the same results.
I notice that bits and pieces of toilet paper rise into the bowl by morning ( after I plunge the night before), but no fecal matter.
Could this be a cesspool problem? If it is, what can I do. If not, are there any readily available chemicals I can flush down the toilet to clear this once and for all?
Note - the toilets on the second floor flush fine.
Thanks
Toilet on main floor clogging often - cesspool problem?
Most people do not have a cesspool anymore. If you do, you would be able to see your cesspool (since they are open) and you would know if the height of the material in your cesspool was above the discharge of the house sewer.
Otherwise for more normal house, I would suspect a problem with a vent to your downstairs toilet first, then maybe a blockage in the line between the toilet and street. Need to have someone run a snake through the vent and drain lines to be sure they're clear.
Reply:i would call the people who take care of maintenance of the flat. try bleach. cos tic soda can be good. i live on a caravan site we have to clear our own drains if they get blocked, using draining rods. not cheap and you need to know a bit more about what your doing to start taking up drain covers. PHONE you LOCAL COUNCIL for advice or citizens advice.
Reply:Sounds like a blockage or a partial collapsed sewage pipe. Call the landlord ( if you have one) if its his responsibility and he does nothing call environmenal health in the council. If you own the property....call a reputable builder or two to get an estimate.
Reply:PROVIDE ADDITIONAL VENT LINE AND CLEAN EXISTING VENT, YOU PROBLEM WILL SOLVE PERMENTLY, DO IT FIRST AND THEN SEE
Reply:you could also use sulfuric acid as well... that should break up all the unwanted matter in the line... i have 2 kids... i keep it around.. they like to flush lots of toilet paper :-)

Your system is overloaded. Too many fish in too small a space. Cleaning the filter every two weeks isn't that fast a pace anyway. I clean my filters every week. I would feed the fish less and clean the filter more often.
Reply:What kind of fish are they? Either way, you said pond fish. If you have ANY pond fish in a 33 gallon that is too much.
EDIT: I just saw you said it clogs in 2 weeks. Every filter should be cleaned weekly.
Reply:Probably feeding too much , try feeding once a week or even 10 days.
Reply:Pond fish tend to make more of a mess than aquarium fish do. For that reason, it may be wise to clean it more frequently. Best bet is to clean it when it appears to need it, rather than waiting for a specific time.
Reply:You could add another filter to the system. You could have one filter at each end of the tank.
Reply:Because you have too many, and too large of fish for the tank. You are also likely feeding too much as well.
Reply:that will hold them until you can get new pond, just clean your filter every week

I currently have a clogged toilet. Is there a liquid that I can buy to unclog it?
My home was built in 1955. I have clogs off and on. Normally a plunger would do the job. This morning, it's not working. Is there a liquid formula that I can use to maybe eat through what's cloggin it?
I currently have a clogged toilet. Is there a liquid that I can buy to unclog it?
I've never had much luck with the liquids. They take forever, and for me, they never do as good a job as the TV commercials claim.
Go to a hardware store or home improvement like Lowe's, Menard's, or Home Depot. Look for a clog clearing tool, like a plumber's snake. Have lots of towels, rags, etc, because you're probably going to make a mess.
There's also another tool I found that looks like a narrow strip of plastic about 2 feet long, more or less. It has a plastic ring or tab on one end as a handle, and plastic barbs all along the sides. You can use it to clear clogs like hair, etc in a sink by running it up and down the pipe and turning it. The barbs catch and hold the hair, and you just throw it all away when done. It was only a couple of dollars when I got one. I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet, but it would be cheaper than a snake, I think. It would probably help to break up clogs in a toilet, but it will still make a mess - keep the towels and such handy.
Reply:Soda crystals!!!! (very cheap and effective with washin tough stains off cassarole dishes and the laundry also.
Dont flush till they've bern down ther for about 45 mins or longer tho.
Hope that works for ya!

Reply:There is a foaming clog cleaner from Orchard Supply Hardware, among others. Use it sparingly, a few ounces at a time, because it will foam up and over the toilet onto the floor! There is a warning on the container but it is not a strong enough warning!
The thing is, you probably have roots growing in the large pipe that carries the waste water away. Recent use of sanitary wipes that do not break up easily will finally clog in the roots and stop things up.
U could call a plumber but it is not all that difficult to remove the toilet out of the way. I recently had that problem, house about thirty yrs. old. Put a little lube or PAM or even olive oil on the shaft of the fresh water shut off valve. Lightly twist the water shut off valve as it is probably stuck from years of non-use. Be careful as the shut off valve can break clear off of the water pipe, flooding your house in short order! Be aware of where the main fresh water shut off valve is and make sure that it works before working on pipes.
The toilet itself is usually only held down by two bolts. Go to hardware store, buy two new bolt and nut assemblies, repair part that the bolts fit into, and a thingy called a wax ring. If U do not know about wax rings ask at the hardware. If the guy does not give U a good explanation ask somebody else! Many of these guys do not know poop from apple butter.
When removing toilet put papers down and move toi. into another room or outdoors, out of the way. U might find the really ugly roots growing clear up over the old wax ring. If there is no visible clog, go rent a rotary cleaner or give up and call a plumber. Last time I did it I just grabbed the root and pulled it out. About 7 feet long and really ugly. (The root, not me!) A plumber will say tear up the floor or yard and fix the pipe where the root gets in. Even if it is a concrete floor. The end of the root should tell you about where the pipe is broken; 7 foot long; break is about seven' down the pipe.
Be very careful when tightening the toilet back down. Wiggle the toilet down while pushing it down to set it into the wax ring. If you try to pull the toilet down by wrenching the bolts, the toilet will break almost instantly! Rotsa Ruck! And U may also consider buying a replacement pull chain and flapper valve for in the tank while the water is shut off. And when U turn the water valve back on, open it all the way as most of those valves need to be all open or all the way off to work correctly.
Reply:Your house is as old as mine. Just a theory from me. I need you to ask yourself a few questions...
1. Do you know where your main drain to the sewer or septic system is?...if so, are there any trees that may have rooted through the drain...which is probably clay or concrete?
2. Is it possible that you've had people flushing items inappropriately? That can cause on/off drainage problems.
3. Are your neighbors experiencing similar problems? If so, could be a main sewer line problem (only if the rest of your drains are not working).
Reply:there is a product called liquid fire works wonder most hardware stores sell it if that don't work call your local rotor router sometimes the line need to be cleared out i do mines once a year it stops the occasional clogging
Reply:If you use a drain opener and it doesn't work it can be dangerous to try plunging with the acid in there.
Before you use caustic substances try this. Pour about a cup of Mr Clean, or other all pourpose liquid cleaner, into the bowl. Let it sit about 15 minutes then try plunging.

Why does my throut clog up at school?
when i have to talk to people my throut clogs up and i sound completely funny and i was wondering why im so nervous and tense and whenever im at home i feel fine?
Why does my throut clog up at school?
Alot of people are nervous about speaking in front groups of people. You will grow out of it.
Reply:Depending on how exactly it 'clogs', I see two possibilities:
1) You're extremely nervous in school, possibly to the point of having a phobia. You'll need counseling for that.
2) If it's that something's in your throat that shouldn't be, there might be something in the school that's actually making you sick or causing an allergic reaction. I don't think it's this though, since you say you're fine when you're home.
Reply:there are a number of possibilities. You just need to think which one you think is the problem.
It could be you have alergies coming from school and when ur away from that allergy it is gone. It could also be that you are stresed and nervous at school. Sometimes I think I talk diffrently at school then home in a diffrent voice. If this continues and you feel pain go see a doctor. But I think you should drink some water and take some deep breathes. Maybe this is just normal.

Does fat really clog the drains?
My roommate swears that bacon grease and other animal fat clogs the drain and that I shouldnt pour it down the sink. He pours the fat in cans and freezes them and then throws it away. I am pretty skeptical of all of this cause my mom never did this and we didnt have any problems to my knowledge. Personally I am pretty lazy and since I don't think it really affects anything I prefer to pour it down the drain. But whenever he is around he gets mad at me. Is he right or is it all bologna?
Does fat really clog the drains?
yes it dose, sometimes Ice cubes in the garbage disposal might help. Potato peelings ,BAD, Chicken skin gets caught in the blades and stinks up the kitchen to high heaven, I only put citrus peelings down the GD. When I use canned food , I wash a few cans and keep them under the sink. You can tell who owns their home and who rents.
Reply:Yes it does clog the drains. Just like it gets hard when it sits out it will also get hard and clog your drain pipes. On the rare occasion that I do it I run plenty of hot water behind it so that it gets flushed out of my part of the system. But I like your roommates idea of freezing it and then throwing it away.
Reply:Yes it gets solid. It cools down in the pipe and eventually when you'ved poured enough down the drain many times it keeps making layers until it closes up. Kind of like the fats in your blood do in the arteries and veins in your body.
Reply:Not really unless you do it everyday but it harms more of the earth then your drain! so don't do it anyways! Put it in a old mayo bottle and when its filled throw it away! NOT HARD!
Reply:Bacon grease and other simular fats can clog up your drains big time. It's a b*tch to unglog too. It's not that hard to pour it in the cans.
Reply:i would freeze the fat then throw it away. it does clog the drains.
Reply:He is absolutely right!!!
This habit can cause serious plumbing issues.
Reply:yes it does! it takes a while but its very bad especially if the drain is old

Does olive oil clog your pores?
this "nurse"that I was buying Mary Kaye from, told me that olive oil clogs your pores, I think she said that because I told her that's what I use on my face as a moisterizer but she wanted me to buy her product..is she telling the truth?
Does olive oil clog your pores?
I use olive oil... And when I changed over to one of the over-the-counter moisturizers that are "designed" for the face I broke out like crazy. So the short answer is.. No.
Reply:I think that you should trust your own judgement a little more.....sales people are not always truthful.
Reply:olive oil is good for you
Reply:I would say no because my moisturizer has olive oil in it and i use natural homemade soap that has olive oil in it it also has avocado in it and seaweed it is the best stuff i have ever used my skin is great ppl always tell me i have nice skin. If your skin looks good keep on using it.
Reply:No it doesn't it may be heavy which could sit in your pores. If you want a good light moisturing oil use almond oil. I use it, directly on skin or in the shower. I put my sister on it as well when she was pregnant and ended up with no stretch marks. My masseus uses it too. She uses it in my newphews bath and with cradle cap. The best thing about it as well is that it is loaded with almond oil which has the omega oil benefits.

How to get rid of blackheads, clogged pores?
how do cleansers get rid of them?the stuff inside clogged pores are pretty solid and i have to extract the clogs weekly
How to get rid of blackheads, clogged pores?
I would use a treatment I read about in Prevention magazine that has worked for me, my family and many of my friends. This is relatively inexpensive as all products can be purchased at Walgreens or Wal Mart.
I wash twice a day (in morning and before bed) with a salicylic acid based cleanser such as Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser.
In the morning after I wash, I apply an Alpha Hydroxy 8% AHA. This exfoliates my skin. Makeup and sunscreen can be applied over it.
At night, after washing, I rub an ice cube over my face until my face is as cold as I can stand it, I pat it dry until it is damp and apply a small amount of benzoyl peroxide 10% cream and massage it into the affected areas. I apply ice packs over this for about 5 minutes. Do this until your skin clears. Then you can use ice only as needed but continue with the other part of the regimen. I have clear glowing skin all year long with this treatment with little or no extraction.

The following are some tips for removing blackheads:
- Keep the skin as clean and oil free as possible. Use natural or chemically prepared cleansers, astringent solutions or masks to accomplish this. Avoid harsh soaps that may irritate the skin or any creams that leave an oily finish.
- Use a gentle exfoliant to keep the dead cells off your skin and away from the pore openings.
- Avoid harsh squeezing or scraping at the blackhead. Excessive squeezing can damage the skin surround the pore and can actually increase the size of the pore leading to more blackheads in the future.
- A warm compress of water applied to the area of the blackhead followed by a very, very gentle pressure can help in clearing the clog from the pore.
- Commercial “blackhead strips” which are basically a tape like substance that is placed over the nose and then pulled off will remove some blackheads that are at the surface. Caution should be used with these products and it is important to read the directions completely before deciding to use the strips or not.
