My drain isnt working right i have to time my showers cause the
water keeps over flowing i have tryed liquid plumer foaming snake
didnt work anyone know of any other store brand that might?
Anybody know what to use for shower clogs?
If the drain is clogged with hair, I%26#039;ve found that starting the cleaning with pulling some of that hair out helps the other products work better to clear the drain of soap scum, etc.
there is a plastic device [ see the link below ] found in plumbing department of most home improvement stores
Zip It Drain Cleaner
hope this helps

Most times this is an easy fix....
If you have the lil%26#039; screen over the drain .. carefully remove it.
Then:
Get either a needle nose pliers or a metal clothes hanger that you cut and put a 1/2 inch hook on one end...
Take flash light and look into the drain, inside on the X part that held the screen screw you may see a horrible lump of hair hanging on it....
Now use either the pliers or altered hanger to %26quot;clear%26quot; this block. Prepare for grossness!
If you do not see any hair then the problem will be either the Toggle control or the trap being plugged..... as you have already tried a chemical (tho I suggest Draino crystals - It actually works) then check the Toggle adjust.....
Just loosen the 2 screws out.... then gently pull the fitting up an inch or so.... if the tub now drains ok then you need to adjust this thing.... if no change then it is the drain.... and more chemicals don%26#039;t use a snake as no snake can make the narrow turns needed to do this....(that I know of). OK, confused?
If you rent....call the landlord...
Reply:You can get a %26quot;Plumbers Helper%26quot; in the gray bottle, it%26#039;s a commercial cleaner that will dissolve hair. That%26#039;s usually what the problem is, hair from the washing in the shower. You can purchase a %26quot;catcher%26quot; for hair, that goes over the drain and catches the hair instead of letting it go down the drain and plug it.
Go to %26quot;Home Depot%26quot; they have everything you%26#039;ll need.
Reply:try plunging but be careful with the liquid plummers they can splash back in your face and cause great damage that happened to a friend of mine you may need a plumber
Reply:likely you need to get a snake and attatch it to a good drill and drill it out, but the pipes may be collapsing, hard to say. have you checked for standing water under the house?
