Why does my bath tub drain clogs every month??

I have 2 girls so know the answer, but I have tried to use a snake but it seems like i can nver get it in more than 2 like 1 foot. So I use industrial srength Draino once a month the plunger the hell out of it. What am I doing wrong?

Why does my bath tub drain clogs every month??
Hook a garden hose up to the drain.Wrap a rag or towel around it so you can develop some pressure. That should blow the drain out.
Reply:use the vent ie overflow drain remove cover to it for snaking, for plunging load tub w/water use the back hand motion not push down this is the trouble any way, hope it helps.
Reply:A long term solution is to get a drain strainer. This is a vinyl cap that fits over the tub drain and catches the hair before it get%26#039;s into the drain. Usually they are white. Most good hardware stores, like an Ace Hardware or Lowe%26#039;s or Home Depot will carry them. You may even find them at a big Walmart. They will cost about $2 or 3, that%26#039;s less than another bottle of Draino.
Reply:you might have a massive clog beyond the reach of the snake and that the draino can%26#039;t combat. if you know someone handy or a plumber friend. have them open up the drain and check for a big ol hair ball.

i had a massive one when i bought my house from the prev owners - who are part yeti i think lol

dad took the piping apart behind the wall and took out blobs of yeck

it runs better but still clogs up at times.
Reply:try, and i forget the various names, an industrial strength cleaner that is basically made from sulphuric acid. you can usually find it in hardware stores and the container is in a plastic bag. it is a bit dangerous so use it carefully but it blasted through a 4 year hair clog in something like 4 minutes.
Reply:Once you get it unclogged, you can install

stainless steel wire mesh strainers in the

outlets. This will keep out hair and most anything

else. Clean after each shower.

Building centers, Walmart and other stores sell

them, also mail order catalogs list them.
