You say elements get hot, but maybe not hot enough. If the dryer is only running on one leg 120 instead of 240, the dryer will get hot, but not hot enough to evaporate the water molecules into water vapors to allow them to funnel away. Have someone knowledgeable test the hot legs to see if both legs are OK and to amp probe the wires to see if the amp draw is within range of wires supplying current
Reply:LOOK FOR LINT AROUND THE BLOWER FAN.YOU SHOULD HAVE AROUND 120 AIR OUT OF VENT AT THE BACK OF DRYER,TAKE VENT OFF AN RUN A LOAD SEE IF DRIES BETTER. Report It

Reply:Change your heating element(s)
Reply:You didn%26#039;t mention if it was heating. If it is, check your vent again. Any kink or too many bends will also cause this problem.
Reply:An electric dryer has the following basic parts: heating element, a belt that goes thru a pulley and over the basket to make it tumble, a timer, and an electric motor. If your basket turns, then it probably isn%26#039;t the motor or the belt. If it goes thru the cycles, then it probably isn%26#039;t the timer. If you can, have someone hold the dryer up off of the floor and get a flashlight and look at the heating element. Generally, heating elements look like metal snakes and they are one continuous piece. If your element is more than one piece and looks like it has scorched marks, then your element is probably out. Good luck!
Reply:the heating element(s) may be burned out (some dryers have one and some have two) and need to be replaced--easy to install, but, depending on brand, may cost a little..still cheaper than buying a new one
Reply:The heating element is out, which is what creates the heat to dry the clothes.
Reply:i worked with appliances for many years. if the dryer is running but not heating it could be one of two things.first i would check your breaker,a dryer runs on 220 volts 110v for the drum and 110v for the heating elements, the breaker can trip half way causing the drum to work and the elements not to work, turn the breaker off then back on if this does not fix it then it should be the heating elements.
