Dry skin, but lotion clogs...?

I have quite the dilemma. My skin gets very, very dry during the winter and fall. Unfortunately, any lotion that is moisturizing enough for it also blocks pores. This in turn makes me break out. Any advice? I already have acne medication, but the fact that my pores are getting blocked makes that pretty much a moot point. Any advice would be wonderful!

Thanks!

Dry skin, but lotion clogs...?
if you do not want to keep your skin dry, better keep hydrating yourself through drinking a lot of water daily. make sure that you do not expose yourself too much under the sun. i suggest you try an all natural moisturizer that can help the skin protected from radical damage. choose the one that contains living nutrients for it is safe and very effective in moisturizing the skin and promoting skin healing fast. visit http://www.skinsosilky.com for more tips on how to take care of dry skin.
Reply:At Night after you wash your fash put some Vaseline on. It works miracles on my skin! Then in the morning put on just a light moistuizer. I hope this helps! Good Luck :)
Reply:I have very sensitive skin as well, and my advice is to use Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing bar on your face, to avoid getting the dry skin in the first place. That%26#039;s what my dermatologist recommended years ago and I%26#039;ve used it ever since. I could not use any moisturizer on my face without breaking out, and now since I use that soap, I don%26#039;t really need moisturizer. Only use a little, rinse it off right away, don%26#039;t scrub, and rinse really well....you should love the results. If my face ever does get dry, it is because I took a couple of showers in one day, and washed my face again before bed, and I realize I shouldn%26#039;t have used soap on my face all those times in one day. Good luck!!! When I was on medication that dried out my skin in spots, I used Eucerin and only a tiny dab rubbed into my hands first, then patted onto my face, and it didn%26#039;t really cause any problems.
Reply:The thing about dry skin is that it%26#039;s all dead. The point is to get that dead skin off an get to the living stuff (the smooth and soft skin). I would highly suggest getting some lemon juice (at the grocery store you can find plastic lemons with green lids [full of lemon juice]), putting it on a cotton pad and using that for your face. It will take off all the dead skin. If that hurts too much, try getting a toner from Garnier (green bottles usually). I loveee those toners.

Get a moisturizer for oily skin... it won%26#039;t have oil in it therefore it won%26#039;t block pores! Gotta go! Try the lemon juice out, then if that doesn%26#039;t work try the Garnier toner (and wash, moisturizer if you can). =) Seee ya.
Reply:I%26#039;ll bet the moisturizers you have been using either contains oils, petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and/or alcohol. These will ALL dry out your skin or clog your pores. The Hydrating Creme Concentrate from Bee-Luscious is free from all of those. It is the most amazing moisturizer I have ever used. It will NEVER clog your pores or make your skin feel oily or greasy. It almost feels like baby powder soft after you use it. Any way look up Bee-Luscious on Google or Yahoo.
Reply:try a skin serum instead of a lotion. a little serum goes a long way. and avoid anything with mineral oil. mineral oil stays on the skins surface therefore clogging pores. lotions and serums that are water based will penetrate the skin and are more efficient.
Reply:Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

Reply:try an alpha hydroxy acid lotion to exfoliate skin. It will remove the dead skin and help with clogged pores. It may help you keep moisture in, too.
Reply:Sounds like the exact same problem I have. Try an anti-aging product that contains alpha AND beta hydroxy acids (will say on the label). These help fight acne, moisturize well, and exfoliate which helps to unclog pores. Also, use just a little of the acne medication and only on the actual blemishes. Too much won%26#039;t work any better and will dry out your skin.
Reply:Dry skin has no permanent cure but the skin can be softened and made smoother by using a few home remedies. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
