Does it irritate you whenrather than answer the question, some clever-clogs?

picks you up on you're grammar?

Me thinks there are a lot of retired English teachers out

there. Or simple nitpickers!!

Does it irritate you whenrather than answer the question, some clever-clogs?
yeah thats true I want quick/good answers to my questions not someone with there head up there *** wastin theres an my time pickin me up on something that I dont give a "?@% if Im doin because I'm gettin things done quicker not worrying about grammar an that suits me.
Reply:It does not irritate me that, "when rather than answer the question, some clever clogs picks you up on your grammar" (CORRECTED INTO ENGLISH) because I NEVER get it wrong. Not because I am a retired English teacher, just because I speak (and write) ENGLISH.

Partly because I am literate, and partly because I am capable of using the Check Spelling option that would enable me to avoid writing "whenrather".
Reply:i make so many mistakes that i would be forever second guessing myself and never try to write anything. plus if i didn't mess up so much ,the others wouldn't seem quite as good as they are.
Reply:it annoys me

after suffering from brain injury I spend a lot of time on yahoo

I do use spell check ,people should not be so quick to judge others

if they don't like it why do they not ignore the question rather than being judgemental
Reply:as in, for example, writing "you're" instead of "your."

LOL!

Sorry couldn't resist.
Reply:lol yeah
Reply:If you ask questions you are lacking in knowledge on that subject or you wouldn't ask the question. If your question is poorly phrased or incorrectly spelled it distracts the answerer and he/she may not take your request seriously. That is why the spellchecker is present on Yahoo Answers. Use it.
Reply:It lets you know who the jackasses are
Reply:Sometimes when the grammar is wrong you can't take the question seriously. However, I do not nitpick, I just ignore the question.
Reply:Language is the material with which we think.

Grammar is the architecture of logic.

If we are sloppy with grammar, we may find ourselves in a logical cul de sac.
Reply:I'm a nitpicker too, I'm afraid. But I am trying not to do it so much now. Like your grammar, for instance. I am definitely not going to mention it, even.
Reply:it does a bit, yes, especially when they just do that and don't even bother to answer the question.

Perhaps they are the Grammar Police ?

Too many mistakes and you get a violation ??
Reply:Yes it is irritating. As long as the wording makes sense I don't think it matters. We can't all be a Shakespeare
Reply:While we have the English language, why do some people find it necessary to add words and abuse it?
Reply:Just by roaming around looking at questions I know exactly what you mean. I have seen several people do that instead of answering. Even though our language of English is important we shouldn't go around correcting everything we see.
Reply:Yes it does. But you said Me thinks! I thought I was the only one who said that! Well done.
Reply:'nitpicker', perhaps. 'simple', never.

Really bad spelling and grammar is a real turn off, hard to read and, often, open to misinterpretation. Everyone should be able to write reasonable English on this site, I think.
Reply:just ignore them.
Reply:It does bother me when people ignore the question only to criticize someone's grammar, but I'm even more frustrated when people try to sound smarter than everyone else but don't bother proof-reading what they've written.
