How many more witches have to be burned at the stake before christianity finally hangs up its clogs?

When did they start burning witches again? I will be a Christian forever! I will wear my clogs as Long as they make them or until the Lord calls me away.

How many more witches have to be burned at the stake before christianity finally hangs up its clogs?
Actually the number of witches burned at the stake is still significant. You hear of maybe a few hundred each year, usually in highly Christian regions of Africa.

"Witch hunts are so common in South Africa that hundreds of people die in witch-burning episodes each year. And in the Northern Province, no less that ten villages have been established, which are exclusively populated by "witches." Their lives are at risk in their home communities. This trend to persecute, kill and banish "witches" is, many fear, on the rise." from Witch-Hunts: A Thing of the Past? by Gerda Wever-Rabehl

"Modern day witch-hunts are, unfortunately, not limited to South Africa. Brutal persecution, rape and ritual killings also occur in Cameroon, Kenya, the Congo, Sierra Leone and other countries. " from Witch-Hunts: A Thing of the Past? by Gerda Wever-Rabehl

Reply:Allow me to answer that question with a question of my own:

Why do anti-Christian people often appeal to events that happened hundreds of years ago in order to engage in their Christian-bashing?

No witches have been burned in centuries.

Atheist communists, meanwhile, have slaughtered over 100 million people -- many in our own lifetimes. In some countries, they continue to do so.

Care to address that?

Reply:According to God the Son Jesus Christ the “laws” in the Bible especially in the New Testament are valid even today! When some Colonies in America were ruled by the Bible a lot of innocent ladies were hung from tree branches with a rope tied around their neck! The first criminals to be sentenced to death in Christian America were witches!!! BTW… I am not taking ANYTHING out of any Biblical CONTEXT here! I am applying the same Bible principals taught in any Bible Institute… It is the SECULAR world that is forcing the Clergy to conform to current morality standards, not the way around! In due course, the validity of same sex couples will be determined by the secular government, too! Someday soon, the Christian clergy will still have plenty of opportunities to regulate the morality of same sex couples. Christianity is here to stay for a long time because some humans still need a “spiritual” crutch to function. Up to the 1860s the Holy Bible slavery was perfectly legal here in America, but now it is illegal…!!! Common sense prevailed OVER THE BIBLE!!! Everything changes with time thanks to liberal non religious governments!!!
Reply:Why do you single out Christianity ? All the other religions are just as stupid and superstitious as Christianity .
Reply:What do you have against clogs? They're quite comfy. Why associate Christianity with the salem witch trials either? I thought that they were over.
Reply:Is there something new going on? I'm just wondering because I haven't heard anything lately.
Reply:I don't think witched are burned anymore, sorry.
Reply:Another hysterical, irrational faux argument by an anti-theist.

Wish I had a nickle...
Reply:I have not read that any woman as been burnt at the stake as a witch I watch Fox News all the time
Reply:humans are more primitive than we'd like to admit
