you may think you look cute right now but in like 10 years when your 23 your going to look 32 don't be stupid don't wear make up right now your only gonna mess up that pretty little face and then if you don't wear make up your gonna look like an old nasty wrinkly ladie when your not wearing make up

Reply:Hey! I'm 13 too, and I wear 'Covergirl Dream Matte Mouse' foundation, and sometimes I wear 'Covergirl' powder foundation. It is really nice and doesn't look cakey on your skin. And yes, liquid foundation does clog your pores, and it also looks your face look shiny and oily.
Reply:I reccomend N.Y.C creme to powder foundation. It isn't cakey,it's cheap, and it really covers up zits!!
Reply:there are many make-up brands that make liquid foundation that doesn't clog pores such as cover girl clean make-up and neutrogena so try telling your mom that. hope that helps! :)
Reply:I'm sure your mom is just trying to come up with an excuse so you won't wear foundation - there are tonnes of foundations out there that will not clog pores (they are labelled 'oil-free' or 'non-comodogenic'). But I don't blame her - I do think that foundation at your age will make you look worse, not better. Your skin is fresh and beautiful at your age - don't buy into all the marketing crap that makes girls your age want to buy foundation and other make-up. You really, really don't need it at your age.
Reply:Forget the foundation, apply a light dusting of powder over your face in your skintone for a matte look ....then some lipgloss, if you like...Most important thing to maintain nice skin is to remove your make-up with a gentle cleanser.
Reply:You are 13, and your mom is right about not wanting you to wear foundation. I don't think she means, per se, that foundation is bad. Foundation isn't bad and it doesn't matter what age you wear it - it is makeup. It is a chemical that matches your skin tone that you are applying onto your face on a daily basis. By itself it doesn't make your skin bag, if you buy the good kind, it will not clog your pores, it will not cause you to break out, thus what is bad about it?

What your mom is talking about probably, is that girls your age don't understand yet how to take good care of your skin. Right now, being 13, your skin is gentle, soft and doesn't really need foundation per se. Your mom is afraid that you will not wash it off, wear it all the time, buy a cheap brand that has oil and fragrances, which can both clog your pores (the oil) and dry out your skin (fragrances). Those two things will make your skin age faster and may cause you to have pimples (that's what clogged pores are).

I'm 24 and although I don't have any younger sisters (I am blessed with a male younger sibling, who doesn't care about makeup...), if you were my younger sister, I wouldn't object to you using foundation at age 13 as long as you followed these rules.

1) Buy a foundation in a dept. store preferably, meaning, not Walmart, Target or a drug store like Walgreens. Try to find foundation that is 1) oil free, 2) fragrance free, 3) has SPF. Oil free willl prevent pore clogging that causes pimples, fragrance free will prevent drying out of your skin, SPF is sunscreen, meaning you will protect your skin from harmful sun rays that will age your skin and cause rinkles.

2) Wash your face daily. NEVER sleep with make up. Invest into a good makeup remover (Clean %26amp; Clean foaming facial makeup remover is really good) and wash all these chemicals off of your face daily. Then apply oil free moisturizer! It will nourish your skin.

3) If you use mascara, buy a mascara remover (Neutrogena makes a good one) and take your eye makeup off. Rinse it off with water.

Also it helps to use moisturizer under your foundation because it will allow the foundation to lay down in a smooth layer.

If you can buy a foundation brush, it would be helpful as using your hands will cause you to add extra oil from your fingers and dirt onto your face which could cause you to get pimples. If you use a cotton ball you will be using a lot more foundation than you should because the ball will be absorbing the liquid.

Well, I hope this helps.
Reply:Yes, any type of foundation is bad.

But anyway, you are only 13. Your skin should still be nice and wrinkle-free, yes?
Reply:make-up isnt bad depending on what type you use but your only 13 your skin is fine dont worry:)
Reply:Water based foundation is the very good. However you are young, best to wear blend in concealer as opposed to foundation. Your skin is still young and fresh and it best to start with foundation later.
Reply:it is bad! Use face powder. If you want to look tanner, use Hoola by Benefit, available at Sephora. If you want to even your skin tones, use Mac face powder available at Mac
Reply:Yes do not wear foundation. There are alternatives.
Reply:not if you wear water based products.

i have been using nutrogena for about 2 years now and it doesnt clog pores..oh ya and im just 14.
Reply:Wow--why would you want to cover up nature's perfection of 13-year-old skin with cruddy old foundation? That's for covering blotchy, old skin that's been out in the sun, has spider veins, etc. What effect are you trying to achieve with the foundation?
Reply:yes, it can clog pores but if you clean your face every night after you use it you should be fine.
Reply:I dont think foundation is bad for you as long as it dosnt look caked on or fake, but for you pores....it will clog them so use powder
Reply:stick with minerla powder foundation
Reply:13 is pretty younger for foundation and can ruin your skin in the long run but if you really need it you should either use powder to get rid of oil to even out your face a little or use mineral foundation.

it has good coverage and makes skin look airbrushed and natural and you can practically sleep in it if you don't feel like taking it off and it's good for sensitive skin. but for any make up you can always prevent clogged pores by removing make up before bed and using a good cleanser.

get pale skin
