Gravity pulls the nasal congestion to the side you are lying on.
Why is it when i lay on my left side, my left nostril clogs up and vice versa?
You may have a deviated septum. I do. I can't breathe when I lie on my right side.
Reply:It is perfectly normal. When I have a cold I switch sides to drain whichever is stuffy. Same with all my kids, and everyone else I know. I think it all drains to the nostril on the side you are laying on because of gravity or something, as in the answer above.
Reply:Doesn't that suck :o( you are always having to turn to the other side.
Reply:seek a doctor for advice, you may have sinus problem.
